Spring Agora Twente 2012
From May 1 - 6, 2012 the AEGEE Spring Agora took place at the campus of the University of Twente.
AEGEE is the biggest interdisciplinary European student association: 40 counties, 200 cities, 13.000 friends. AEGEE strives for a united Europe, without mental borders and prejudices to other cultures. Till 2014 AEGEE focuses on Youth Participation, Bridging all the parts of Europe and the Inclusion of Minorities. The members have frequent debates about: international politics, environment, culture, visa issues, education and a strong training course system.
On May 3, Joseph Kessels moderated a workshop on the basis of the principles of appreciative inquiry and insights from positive psychology.
In this workshop he explored new ways of organizing your professional development in an informal setting, applying the valuable experiences that are available in your social network.
This workshop was of special interest for AGORA participants as it offered an opportunity to explore new perspectives on the professional development of active students, while connecting with likeminded spirits, in a joyful and appreciative manner.

Twice a year AEGEE members from all antennae come together in a general assembly, called an Agora. This event is the best opportunity for AEGEE to bring its aims into practice amongst its members. During this assembly both the internal functioning and the vision of the network concerning the main fields of action are being discussed (Cultural Exchange, Active Citizenship, Higher Education, and Peace and Stability). The assembly is structured in plenary meetings and so-called Prytania. During these Prytania, delegates of the antennae split up in groups to study the proposals in-depth.
